active canvas presents – La Loba (The Wolf Woman) – a cross-cultural play exploring the life of a woman – beautiful, wild and instinctive like the wolf on the one hand – the domesticated and trapped woman on the other. This one-woman show, directed by Jairo Vergara Fruto will premier in Bangalore on Saturday, the 19th of May 2007 at 7:00 pm at active canvas.Yasmin Jasdanwala creates colourful vignettes of the old woman, the wolf woman, the bird and the new born through physical narratives. Myriad images of the wolf woman are created through feverish dance, physical theatre and live music in a meditative style of story telling. This outdoor performance lasts approximately 70 minutes.
